NDA most appropriate place for Thorle Bajirao Peshwa memorial: Amit Shah

Pune, July 4 -- Union Home Minister Amit Shah today described the National Defence Academy (NDA) as the most appropriate place for a memorial of Peshwa Bajirao, as wannabe soldiers undergo their primary training here and take inspiration from the Maratha warrior's life.

Shah was speaking after unveiling a statue of Thorle Bajirao Peshwa at the NDA Khadakwasla here.

"The most appropriate place for a memorial of Peshwa Bajirao is the National Defence Academy in Khadakwasla. Installing a statue of Peshwa Bajirao at the place where the soldiers of all three forces undergo their primary training, our future soldiers pass out from here, taking inspiration from his life, strengthening our borders for the years to come, " Shah said.
