Samastipur, Jan. 29 -- Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Thursday said the Centre's National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government truly honoured Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur by conferring upon him the Bharat Ratna, the country's highest civilian award.
Addressing a public meeting here during Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's Samriddhi Yatra, Choudhary said Prime Minister Narendra Modi ensured that Karpoori Thakur received the respect he truly deserved. He said the NDA government has corrected a long-standing historical neglect by awarding the Bharat Ratna to the legendary socialist leader.
