Kolkata, Sept. 20 -- A team of National Commission for Women (NCW) headed by senior official Archana Majumdar today visited the Panskura Super Specialty Hospital in connection with the alleged rape of a female casual employee in the hospital complex recently, official sources said.
The prime accused, Zahir Abbas Khan, a facility manager employed by an outsourcing agency, has been arrested by the police.
The crime was reported on September 14 night when an "influential" facility manager allegedly raped the part-time woman worker in the hospital complex.
Sources said the NCW members, besides talking to the hospital superintendent Kaushik Dhal, also spoke with hospital staff members and district superintendent of Police of East Medinipur.
