Mumbai, May 8 -- Ahead of the upcoming municipal elections likely to be held in the state soon, six former corporators of Nationalist Congress Party from Kalwa, Kharegaon, and Vitawa in the Kalyan-Dombivli Lok Sabha constituency in Maharashtra on Thursday joined the Shiv Sena (Shinde group) in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister and party chief Eknath Shinde.
The former corporators who joined the Shiv Sena include former Thane Municipal Corporation Opposition leader Milind Patil, Manali Patil, Mahesh Salvi, Manisha Salvi, working president of the Thane Mahila NCP (SP) Surekha Patil, and Sachin Mhatre.
They officially joined the Shiv Sena by accepting the party's saffron flag and symbol, the bow and arrow.
