Nagpur, Oct. 27 -- Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) city president Anil Ahirkar has landed in controversy after a video showing him performing a Lavani dance at the party's city office during a Diwali gathering went viral on social media.
Following the incident, Maharashtra NCP president Sunil Tatkare has sought a written explanation from Ahirkar within seven days, party sources said today.
The Diwali "milap" programme was organised jointly by the NCP's Nagpur city and rural units to felicitate social workers from various communities and religions.
