Akola, Dec. 16 -- The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has lodged a strong protest against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over an incident in which the hijab of a Muslim woman doctor was allegedly removed during an official function in Patna.

NCP state organisational secretary Javed Zakaria condemned the Chief Minister's conduct, describing it as unacceptable and insensitive. The incident reportedly occurred during a government programme at which Nitish Kumar was distributing appointment letters to 1,283 newly selected doctors. Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha were also present on the dais.
