Jalgaon, July 17 -- BJP's Maharashtra unit consolidated its presence in Jalgaon district today wheb former Chalisgaon deputy mayor Bhagwan Patil, Zilla Parishad member Bhushan Patil and dozens of NCP (SP) workers formally joined the ruling party.

The defection ceremony occurred at BJP's state headquarters in Mumbai under the supervision of state president Ravindra Chavan, cabinet minister Girish Mahajan, and legislator Mangesh Chavan.

Addressing the gathering, Chavan framed the move as validation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' leadership.
