Mumbai, Dec. 21 -- Nationalist Congress Party led by Sharad Pawar (NCP-SP) is likely to join hands with the Thackeray brothers for the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections.

Local NCP (SP) leaders in Mumbai are said to be favourable to an alliance with Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena (UBT) and Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS).

Discussions on contesting the Mumbai civic elections together have reportedly taken place twice, and final talks on seat-sharing are expected soon, said party sources today.

Recently, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut met NCP chief Sharad Pawar, further fuelling speculation about the alliance.
