New Delhi, Dec. 17 -- union minister Nityanand Rai on Wednesday maintained that the enforcement of the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act (PECA), 2019, under which e-cigarettes were banned in the country, lies with the states and union territories.
Government has banned e-cigarettes under Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act (PECA), 2019, and under this law, the production, manufacturing, import, export, transport, sale, distribution, storage and advertisement of electronic cigarettes is prohibited.
The enforcement of the Act lies with the States and the union Territories through law enforcement agencies, stated Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs Nityanand Rai, in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha....
