Srinagar, Oct. 28 -- On the third business day of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, a heated exchange erupted between legislators of the ruling National Conference and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
In the morning, as the session began for the day, BJP legislator Pawan Gupta demanded a discussion be held on the "humanitarian crises" due to the recent natural calamities in the Jammu region.
The speaker, Abdul Raheem Rather, however, informed that it cannot be allowed, citing several reasons, including that the issue should be of recent concurrence.
Gupta was joined by other party legislators and demanded a discussion over the issue, which triggered a war of words between the BJP and the NC legislators.
