Chandigarh, July 23 -- Cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu assumed charge as Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president in the presence of Chief Minister Amarinder Singh here on Friday.
Four working presidents of the PPCC Kuljit Singh Nagra, Sangat Singh Gilzian, Sukhwinder Singh Danny and Pawan Geol also assumed charge at the ceremony at the party's state headquarters here.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Sunday appointed Mr Sidhu as PPCC president and Nagra, Gilzian, Danny and Goel as PPCC working presidents.
