Mumbai, July 5 -- Police have registered a case against a 30-year-old man for allegedly coercing his wife and mother-in-law into performing occult rituals without clothes and circulating explicit images of them.

The accused, originally from Devria, Uttar Pradesh, but residing in the neighbouring city of Navi Mumbai, purportedly claimed the rituals would facilitate his brother-in-law's marriage, police said today.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the incidents occurred between April and July at the accused's residence.

On April 15, he allegedly forced both women to participate in black magic ceremonies while unclothed, photographing them during the act.
