Mumbai, Aug. 29 -- A 35-year-old man from Navi Mumbai allegedly burned his 32-year-old wife to death over suspicions of her having an extramarital affair and attempted to disguise the murder as suicide, according to police officials today.
The incident occurred in the early hours of August 25 at Pagotegaon in Uran area, with the accused being arrested the following day.
The accused, identified as Rajkumar Ramshiromani Sahu, suspected his wife Jagrani Rajkumar Sahu of maintaining an extramarital relationship.
According to Uran police station's senior inspector Hanif Mulani, Sahu allegedly tied the victim's hands and legs, poured kerosene on her body and set her ablaze using a lighter inside their Uran residence.
