Bhubaneswar, June 10 -- Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday slammed the BJP government in the state, accusing it of focusing only on long speeches and advertisements instead of genuine development.

Addressing party workers at the BJD office here, Patnaik pointed out that it has already been a year since the Bharatiya Janata Party took charge in Odisha, yet there is no sign of development.

"They call it a people's government. But where are the people? Long speeches and big advertisements alone cannot bring development," the BJD supremo remarked.

Patnaik said that during the BJD government's tenure, 90 percent of the people in Odisha benefitted from the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana.
