Kaithal, Feb. 24 -- Under the Rashtriya Vyoshree Scheme, assistive equipment were distributed to senior citizens at the Red Cross Building in Kaithal by the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALMICO), Mohali, on Tuesday.
The initiative was conducted under the joint aegis of the Naveen Jindal Foundation, Red Cross Kaithal, and ALMICO. A senior citizen registration campaign held in November identified 236 beneficiaries across five blocks.
District Deputy Commissioner Aparajita highlighted the objectives of the Rashtriya Vyoshree Scheme, noting that the assistive devices were provided free of cost to senior citizens from economically weaker sections. She praised the efforts of MP Naveen Jindal for supporting the cause.
