Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 20 -- The centuries-old Navaratri idol procession from the historic Padmanabhapuram Palace in neighbouring Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu to Kerala commenced today morning, marking the formal beginning of the State's annual Navaratri celebrations with grandeur, devotion, and age-old traditions.
The ritual began inside the Upparikka Malika of Padmanabhapuram Palace with the time-honored Uduvaal (ceremonial sword) handover. Kerala Archaeology Department Director E. Dinesan presented the sword to Kerala Minister for Archaeology Ramachandran Kadannappalli.
