Hyderabad, Aug. 10 -- The National BC Welfare Association, led by its president and Rajya Sabha member R Krishnaiah, will host a national seminar of Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in New Delhi on August 18-19 to demand 50 per cent reservation for BCs in Assembly and Parliament elections.

In a statement here on Sunday, Krishnaiah said large delegations from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Odisha will participate, along with professors, intellectuals, eight Union Ministers, and 20 MPs from various parties.

He noted that for the first time in independent India's history, the BJP-led Centre will include a caste census in the upcoming national census - a move he called a "historic record" after a gap since the British survey of 1931....
