Chamba/Shimla (HP), Nov. 12 -- A National weightlifter Kalyan Singh of Chamba has strength, passion and talent, but poor financial condition and mother's kidney disease have put obstacles in the way of his dreams.
The hands in which gold medals should have shone, are today forced to wrestle in fairs to run home and to do the routine practice.
21-year-old Kalyan Singh is a resident of Taragarh Panchayat of Bhatiat Assembly Constituency. He has made a name for himself by winning seven medals including five golds at national and state level.
Kalyan's father Devraj is a farmer. Both the kidneys of mother Kaushalya Devi have failed. Her regular dialysis is going on in Jalandhar.
