Lucknow, Oct. 13 -- A two-day national review meeting on the National Filaria Elimination Programme began in Lucknow on Monday, bringing together key health officials and development partners to accelerate India's drive to eliminate lymphatic filariasis by 2027.
The meeting is being jointly organized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the National Center for Vector Borne Disease Control (NCVBDC), and the World Health Organization (WHO).
Addressing the inaugural session virtually, Mrs. Aradhana Patnaik, Additional Secretary (Health) and Mission Director, National Health Mission, Government of India, reaffirmed the Centre's commitment to making India filaria-free within the next two years.
