Midnapore, March 13 -- At a time when rising geopolitical tensions and armed conflicts are not only causing human suffering but also damaging natural resources and ecosystems, scholars and researchers gathered in Midnapore to deliberate on the urgent need for environmental protection and sustainable development.

A two-day national conference titled 'Climate Change, Biodiversity and Environmental Sustainability (CBES-26)' was organised on March 12-13 by the Research Centre in Natural and Applied Sciences of Raja Narendralal Khan Women's College (Autonomous), Midnapore.

The conference was held with financial support from the Department of Science and Technology & Biotechnology (DSTBT), Government of West Bengal.
