Shimla, April 15 -- Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Wednesday said that nation-building remains incomplete without the active and equal participation of women, emphasising the need to strengthen their role in decision-making and governance.
He was addressing a "Town Hall of Women" organised in support of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam here in Shimla, where he described the legislation providing 33 per cent reservation for women in legislatures as a historic step towards inclusive development. He said the measure would not only empower women politically but also accelerate the country's overall progress.
