Nashik, Sept. 11 -- Maharashtra's Nashik city has improved its performance in the Clean Air Survey conducted by the Central government.

Nashik has jumped to the sixteenth position in the Centre's Clean Air Survey this year as against the 23rd position it obtained a year ago. This year, Nashik's ranking improved as it bagged 12.9 points more.

The Central Government has undertaken the National Clean Air Programme, or NCAP, for air purification. Funds are also provided for it. The ranking is decided by reviewing the measures taken by the Municipal Corporation from this fund. Against this backdrop, the union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change announced the results.
