Nashik, March 10 -- A man in Nashik was duped of Rs 52,93,228 after being lured with promises of high returns in cryptocurrency. The perpetrators included three people, including a woman. The incident occurred between March 18, 2026, and the present.

The incident came to light when Rs 4.09 lakh was deposited into his account and the account was subsequently frozen. After contacting the fraudsters, one did not respond, another disconnected his phone number, and the third did not even receive calls. Upon realising he had been duped, the man filed a complaint with the cyber police. Following an investigation, the police registered a case on Monday.
