Kalaburagi, May 24 -- Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, has reportedly lodged a complaint with Council Chairperson Basavaraj Horatti, alleging that he was illegally detained and assaulted by individuals claiming to be Congress workers during a visit to Chittapur in Kalaburagi district. He also contacted the Secretary of the Legislative Assembly by telephone, as the latter was not in office at the time. In a serious allegation here on Saturday, Narayanaswamy said the police remained inactive under the influence of Minister Priyank Kharge, who was allegedly issuing instructions to officers over the phone.
