Hyderabad, March 16 -- Renowned Telugu poet and writer Nandini Sidhareddy has been conferred the Central Sahitya Akademi Award for his poetry collection Animesha.

The anthology portrays the social realities, human struggles, and fractured relationships witnessed during the COVID-19 pandemic, reflecting the emotional and social impact of the global crisis.

The prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, a copper plaque and a shawl.
