Kolkata, Dec. 31 -- In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the West Bengal government on Wednesday appointed senior IAS officer Nandini Chakraborty as the new Chief Secretary and Jagdish Prasad Meena as the state's Home Secretary.

Interestingly, outgoing Chief Secretary Manoj Pant, who retired during the day, has been appointed as principal secretary to the Chief Minister in the rank of Chief Secretary.

Chakraborty- a 1994-batch IAS officer of the West Bengal cadre, was serving as Principal Secretary, Home & Hill Affairs, with additional charge of Parliamentary Affairs and Tourism.
