Nanded, Oct. 3 -- A 24-year-old farmer, Parameshwar Narayan Kapate, died by suicide yesterday in Maharashtra's Nanded district, distressed over crop destruction and mounting debt, an official confirmed today.
According to police, Kapate hanged himself at his residence in Yalgaon Karhan village. A police team reached the spot upon receiving information and began the necessary procedures.
During the investigation, officers recovered a note from the deceased. The note cited severe crop losses due to continuous rains and flood conditions, unemployment, and debt burden as reasons for the extreme step.
