Windhoek, Jan. 13 -- The Namibia Rugby union (NRU) on Tuesday confirmed its touring squad for the Witz Barbarians 7s Tournament in Ceres, South Africa, marking the start of the nation's 2026 international rugby calendar.

The 13-player squad, which departed Windhoek on Tuesday, is led by captain Thehard Lintvelt. The Ceres Invitational is regarded as an important fixture for Southern African nations to test emerging talent and build momentum before the main international sevens circuit begins.

Namibia's build-up began late last year with a talent identification pool of around 38 players scouted at the Ongos 7s. Following a final selection camp held in Windhoek from Jan. 8 to 10, the squad was trimmed to the touring group.
