Windhoek, June 24 -- Namibian rugby finds itself at a crucial juncture just weeks before the Rugby Africa Cup, as the men's head coach Chrysander Botha has stepped down from his role.

The Namibia Rugby Union (NRU) officially announced on Tuesday that Botha has resigned from his role as head coach of the national team.

NRU President Petrie Theron stated that the NRU fully respects his decision and extends its sincere gratitude for his dedication and valuable contributions to Namibian rugby during his tenure.

Botha, who had been in charge for only seven months, cited 'work commitments' as the reason for his resignation.
