Windhoek, Jan. 6 -- Namibia will compete at the International Cricket Council Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier in Nepal from Jan. 18 to Feb. 3, 2026, aiming for a first appearance at a senior World Cup in any format.

The tournament is the final step for teams seeking to reach the 2026 Women's T20 World Cup in England and Wales. With the event expanded to 12 teams for the first time, four places are available in Nepal.

At a team send-off event in Windhoek on Tuesday, head coach Francois van der Merwe said the squad is ready despite a difficult outing at the 2025 Women's Emerging Nations Trophy in Thailand.

Namibia finished seventh among eight teams at the tournament, but Van der Merwe said the experience was valuable.
