Chennai, April 11 -- A former AIADMK strongman and BJP Legislature Party leader
Nainar Nagendran was elected unopposed as 13th President of theTamil Nadu BJP on
Friday.
It would be formally announced tomorrow by top BJP leaders.
Mr Nagendran, who joined the BJP in 2017, was elected to the State Assembly from
the southern Tirunelveli in the 2021 polls and was widely tipped to succeed incumbent
K Annamalai who stayed away from the race for the elections to the new state president.
Filing of nominations for electing the new State Party President was held between
1400 to 1600 hrs at BJP headquarters 'Kamalalayam' on Friday.
