Nahan, Sept. 13 -- The plight of stray dogs in the Nahan Nagar Palika area reflects glaring neglect, with neither vaccination nor sterilization drives conducted for the past one and a half years.

This inaction has left hundreds of dogs vulnerable to diseases, while residents face growing safety concerns.

Despite the Animal Birth Control (ABC) rules mandating annual sterilization and vaccination of stray dogs, the municipal council has failed to comply.

The rules also require tagging treated dogs and maintaining records of their numbers.

Shockingly, in 2024- 25, only nine dogs were registered with the Municipal Council. In the current year, out of 21 applications for registration, only two have been processed.
