Nagpur, Feb. 19 -- An engineer from Nagpur continues to remain incarcerated in Mali despite being granted bail by a local court, prompting his wife to seek urgent intervention from Indian authorities.
Nitin Gulhane, a resident of Nagpur, has been lodged in a Malian prison since February last year in connection with an alleged financial dispute involving a company based in Uttar Pradesh.
Although a court in Mali granted him bail in August 2025, he has not yet been released.
According to his wife, Priyanka Gulhane, the court ordered bail on the condition that a bond amount of approximately Rs 3.25 crore (around 20 million CFA francs) be deposited.
