Nagpur, Sept. 17 -- In a landmark medical achievement, doctors in Nagpur have successfully performed Central India's first-ever pediatric bone marrow transplant (BMT) for a child with Thalassemia Major. The young patient, who had been dependent on frequent blood transfusions, was discharged this week after a rigorous recovery period.

According to the surgical team, the case presented multiple clinical challenges. However, through meticulous planning and continuous medical care, the child made a successful recovery.
