Nagpur, Dec. 6 -- The Maharashtra legislature's winter session, set to begin on December 8, has triggered large-scale security preparations in Nagpur with the city effectively turning into a police camp.

The authorities have deployed around 8,000 police personnel to maintain law and order during the assembly proceedings.

According to officials, the security detail includes city police along with reinforcements from various districts across Maharashtra.

Key government establishments including the Vidhan Bhavan complex, MLA Hostel, and residences of top state functionaries have been brought under an enhanced security grid. Entry at all sensitive points will be restricted to those carrying valid identification.
