Nagpur, April 29 -- A BJP functionary from the city has filed a complaint with the police after his WhatsApp account was reportedly hacked, with scammers using it to solicit money from people in his contact list, officials said.

Dayashankar Tiwari, president of the party's Nagpur unit, became aware of the breach on Wednesday after one of his acquaintances, finding the messages suspicious, reached out to confirm their authenticity.

Following this, Tiwari approached the cyber police, who have registered a case and initiated a probe.
