Dimapur, Aug. 16 -- Nagaland mourned the demise of Governor La Ganesan in Chennai on Friday evening with condolences pouring in from across political parties, organisations, educational institutes, and individuals.
The Nagaland government declared a seven-day state mourning from August 16 as a mark of respect to Ganesan.
A memorial service to honour the life, service, leadership, and dedication of Ganesan was held at Raj Bhavan in Kohima today.
Speaking at the ceremony, Nagaland Assembly Speaker Longkumer described the gathering as a fellowship to honour the governor and a sign of love and remembrance for him.
