Dimapur, March 25 -- The Nagaland government has declared April 9, the day of polling for the byelection to Koridang assembly constituency in Mokokchung district, as paid holiday for people who are electors in the constituency and employed in government, banks, financial institutions, private business establishments, industrial undertaking or any other establishment, including daily wage/casual workers, to enable them to exercise their franchise.

In a notification on Wednesday, this provision includes all those electors in the constituency who may be working on a shift basis in any establishment or shop.
