Kannur, Nov. 21 -- A migrant labourer from Chhattisgarh was killed and seven others were injured when a lorry overturned after the driver lost control of the vehicle at Thavukunnu near Naduvil-Taliparamba in the district, on Thursday.
According to police, the deceased was identified as Nadnhulal (22) of Chhattisgarh. Seven other migrant workers from the same group, who were engaged in the borewell work, suffered minor injuries and have been admitted to a private hospital in Karuvanchal near Taliparamba.
The incident occurred around 1230 PM, when the nine-member borewell team was returning from a worksite in a lorry.
While negotiating a curve, the driver reportedly lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn into an adjacent plot.
