New Delhi, March 4 -- The National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), JP Nadda, resigned his Rajya Sabha seat from Himachal Pradesh on Monday after being elected as a member of the Upper House from Gujarat.

Nadda's resignation has been accepted by the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, and the seat has been declared vacant.

According to the Parliamentary Bulletin, "Jagat Prakash Nadda, an elected Member of the Council of States (Rajya Sabha), representing the state of Himachal Pradesh, resigned his seat in the Rajya Sabha, and his resignation has been accepted by the Chairman, Rajya Sabha, with effect from March 4."
