Aizawl, May 3 -- A fresh spell of violence in Myanmar's Chin state has triggered another influx of refugees into India, with more than 150 people crossing into Mizoram over the weekend after a military airstrike killed seven civilians, most of them children.
The refugees entered through Zokhawthar village in Champhai district, one of the key crossing points along the India-Myanmar border, local sources said.
The movement followed an aerial attack by Myanmar's military on Khawpuichhip village in Falam township on Friday afternoon.
According to accounts from the border, two bombs were dropped around 3:20 pm (Myanmar time) on the village, located close to the Tiau river that separates the two countries.
