Hyderabad, Feb. 1 -- Muttineni Veeraiah, Chairman of the Telangana State Co-operative Corporation for the Handicapped Department, has strongly condemned the Union Budget 2025-26, accusing the Modi government of neglecting India's disabled population.

Despite a marginal 4 per cent increase in allocation for the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Veeraiah noted that it remains far below the demands of disability rights activists. The total budget allocation for the department stands at a mere 0.025 per cent of the overall budget.
