Bengaluru, Jan. 30 -- Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy on Friday triggered a wider debate on poverty alleviation, asserting that entrepreneurship and largescale job creation, not welfare dependency, are the only sustainable solutions to lifting people out of poverty.

Speaking at a fireside chat titled 'The Art of Building Legendary Companies' at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), Murthy said that nations can achieve lasting social progress only by encouraging enterprise, ethical wealth creation and employment generation.
