Murshidabad violence a reminder of Direct Action Day, Mamata acting like modern-day Jinnah: BJP's Tarun Chugh
Chandigarh, April 19 -- Launching a scathing attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh said the tragedy unfolding in Murshidabad is not an isolated event, but "a chilling reminder of Direct Action Day of 1946 when Mohammad Ali Jinnah provoked large-scale Hindu killings in Bengal".
Chugh said that "blinded by appeasement and intoxicated with vote bank politics, Mamata Banerjee has forgotten that she is the Chief Minister of all citizens of Bengal, not just of one community".
