Kolkata, Oct. 30 -- In a new twist to the mysterious death of the niece of convicted RG Kar case accused Sanjay Roy, a murder case has been filed against the minor girl's father and stepmother.
Police sources said the complaint was lodged by the girl's grandmother, Pratima Singh, a resident of Vidyasagar Colony in Alipore, South Kolkata. She has accused her son Bhola Singh and daughter-in-law Pooja Singh - the deceased's father and stepmother - of murdering the 11-year-old.
Several residents of the same locality have also filed written complaints against the couple.
A senior police officer said since the complaint involves allegations of murder, the case is being investigated with utmost seriousness.
