Hyderabad, Feb. 17 -- Telangana Jagruti president Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Tuesday alleged that the recent municipal elections marked the first step towards a BRS-BJP alliance, claiming that the BJP secured key municipal chairperson posts in the State with the support of the BRS.

Speaking to the media after Telangana Jagruti women leaders staged a protest at Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Praja Bhavan in Begumpet, Kavitha said the election outcomes validated her earlier statements about the alleged understanding between the two parties.

She cited BJP victories in Karimnagar and Narayanpet municipalities as evidence of internal cooperation between BRS and BJP.
