Mumbai, Nov. 17 -- Gas supply across several parts of Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai remained disrupted on Monday virtually crippling transport network after damage to a major gas pipeline. However, Mahanagar Gas Limited announced that repair and rectification work is currently in progress to stabilise supply across the network and full restoration is expected by Tuesday.
The disruption was traced to third-party damage to GAIL's primary gas pipeline situated inside the Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers premises at Wadala in central Mumbai. The damage affected gas flow to Mahanagar Gas Limited's City Gate Station in Wadala, leading to reduced CNG availability across the wider metropolitan region.
