Mumbai, Sept. 12 -- Abdul Wahid Shaikh, who was the sole person acquitted in the 7/11 Mumbai train blasts case in 2015, has appealed to the National Human Rights Commission and the Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission, seeking compensation of Rs 9 crore for his nine years of wrongful imprisonment.
Shaikh raised this demand after the Bombay High Court acquitted all 12 accused in July this year, noting that the prosecution had "utterly failed" to prove the case.
