Mumbai, Nov. 24 -- Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today unveiled a large-scale transport and infrastructure roadmap aimed at easing Mumbai's persistent congestion and modernising its public mobility network.

He made the announcement during a youth connectivity programme organised by the state BJP at the Worli Dome.

At the centre of the new plan is a proposed underground transport network called "Patal Lok", which will run beneath some of the city's busiest stretches. The system is designed to function as a series of parallel roads and subways intended to reduce surface-level traffic pressure across Mumbai.
