Mumbai, Aug. 11 -- In the backdrop of the firing at the recently opened cafe of comedian Kapil Sharma in Canada, the city police have stepped up security measures to protect him with adequate vigilance being made at his residence, sources confirmed today.
A senior police official, while confirming the security measures, refused to give details of the arrangements made.
On August 8, shots were fired at Kapil Sharma's recently opened restaurant, Kap's Cafe, located in Surrey, British Columbia.
According to latest information, the comedian has been given security by the protection branch of Mumbai police. Officers of the local Bandra police are also keeping an eye on Sharma's security. UNI AAA SSP
